You can download music etc legally. There are sites that are perfectly legal.

If you download illegally , they say prison, but if it was so strict the prisons would be full of internet users!...

Coping anything is illegal if it breaches someone elses copyright.

So why they dont do dawn raids on your radio, television copies i dont know!.

Its all stupid really.
I can record a tv programme or film and i dont hear the copyright police breathing down my neck.
I can copy a song off the radio onto cassette, are they interested NO.
In fact i reacon you could get your old VCR collection... you know all those rare films you recorded through the years, even borrow your freinds video copies too....
Fill the back of your car with the stuff, go to your local police and hand yourself in for illegally copying !...
Would the police be interested NO.

I believe its more if your copiing for the intent of resale.

Basically i would not buy a CD as it costs too much. Just to buy the cd collection of one of my favourite groups would cost 200-300 pounds.. and i like thousands of songs from lots and lots of groups.....
So if i was to buy them all, it would add up to probably tens of thousands of pounds!.
there are still ways to download music.
