I'm with ya sister. lol.

I love the sun n always have. I love being in it, I love feeling it on my skin, I love seeing someone with a nice tan n I like having a tan, etc. Can't imagine not tanning.

I am careful though about not getting burned. It's like anything else that can be potentially dangerous: do it in moderation. I spend hours outside but I make sure that i have a base tan first so I don't get burned(red). I read that your chance of getting skin cancer increases with severe burns. Like the kind of burn that develops into those big nasty blisters.

I worry... but my sister is obsessed with tanning, she has been for a while now and the only problem is....she looks like a piece of leather. Her and I are only 18 months apart in age and people think Im her daughter. The constant tanning prematurley aged her "bad" She just turned 40 this past June and Ill be 39 this Nov. She just had a strange spot removed from her body that the Dr.s are screening for skin cancer, but hey if you look good go for it. I use a self tanner myself and it looks so real. It's called Tan Perfect. All the benefits of a real tan without the side affects. That's what I do but its all about what you think is right for you.

I'm a Southern Cal Beach "bum" ever since I grew up on the beach as a little kid. I surf 3-4 times a week, paddle on the ocean, have a dark complexion and get dark, dark tans (no fair haired boy here). Like you I din't care much and even used sunscreen....I didn't care until they cut a nickel size chunk of my skin out just below my eye that was early skin cancer. I give a crap now and really try and protect my face in the sun. You won't care until you are older, but then it will be too late as the damage will have been done.

When I was in my teens and early twenties I spent a lot of time at the beach and also in tanning beds. I loved being tan as well. Sometimes before a special event I will go tan once or twice. As you get older you start to worry about aging and the sun does take it's toll and will age you quicker. I now wear sunscreen every day and take care of my skin. My advice to you is wear sunscreen and tan in moderation.

<< If tanning salons are such a health risk why are they LEGAL? >> LOL! I hate to be the one to break the news to you but many health risks are legal. This may come as a shock to you but depsite the fact that your lungs seem like they were designed to breath smoke and tar, cigarettes are actually unhealthy. You may also be interested in knowing that drinking can cause serious liver problems and you can't live without your liver. Cigs and alchohol are also subject to taxes from Uncle Same

You should care about the risks of tanning. You sound very immature and some day your skin will pay.

I didn't care several years ago. . .now I do as I see the moles & age spots appearing. It's not fun having skin surgery and keeping up with the ravages of the tanning booth.

nothing against you , i'm sure you are very pretty, but that tan is only going to look good for so long, then your skin is going to feel like leather, and you will get cancer soars all over, and those aren't very pretty. i would stop and use an alternative tanning solution

I see all these middle age women around here who are walking around with wrinkled, paper thin skin because of too much tanning. And they're probably in their mid 30's to mid 40's and their skin makes them look like they are in their 60's.
