When I click shut-down it always does a restart.
How do I stop it restarting?
Thanks Guys.

I was unaware they still made those.

Well, if it's like any computer I've ever used you should be able to shut it down just by holding down the power button for a few seconds... unless you changed the settings to make it do otherwise. If you did, here's what you do...

Start Menu, go to the Control Panal. Go to Performance and Maintainence, then find the Power Options icon. Click it. Go to Advanced, and at the bottom of the window there should be a drop-down box that lets you change what happens when you hold down the power button.

BTW, while you're in Performance and Maintainence I recommend you also check out the Disk Defragmenter... but that's out of the scope of my answer.

It sounds as though you have 'restart' in the drop down when you shut down.
