A virus does not damage a hard disk, it places files on it.
After the virus is removed / cleaned the diski is as good as new.

ah start over man ... wipe it all out redo all software.. otherwise that virus is kept in a vault .. wipe oujt all make sure u have all software disks and things down u need for set ups in interent proxies etc know all that 1st.. get mcafee and browse with mozilla from now on.. back up dell disks should be done monthly norton system works backs it up for u so u have options//
