First, this is actually a composite of several pictures taken by the Hubble space telescope, not just a single image. Second, It is not being called the "Eye of God" by NASA or any official naming convention. here is a link regarding that part of it.

Regarldess of the name, it is a stunning picture of a nebula where stars are being born and dying. Hubble has taken lots of great images like this one.

Also, the nebula will be visible (by powerful telescopes) for as long at it exists, not 3,000 years as reported. I believe the average lifespan of a nebula is something like 20,000 years.

Yes, I have it saved. It is incredibly beautiful. It surely does look like the eye of God!!
How do you figure it is made up ceprn? They are gases, yes, made up? I don't think so.
