100.0 mbps and 256 kbps?? is that what you mean?
cause if it is, then 100.0mbps is also equivalent to 100000kbps
so compared to each other..
100000KBPS --- 256KBPS
that is a huge difference in speed!!
mbps is Megabytes Per Second
and
kbps is Kilobytes Per Second

the exact differ is this :D
100 * M - 256* K= answer
Now really,
100 MBps is usually the speed of LAN , (Local Area Network)
Which is equally 12.5 MegaByte/S
256 KBps is exactly 32 KiloByte per second
much slower
it's Dial Up like speed

Well, Mbps is MegaBits Per Second. A Megabit is slightly less than a Kilobyte, I believe. But don't quote me on that.
I have no idea what K stands for. All I know is that 100mbps is PLENTY fast enough for the home computer - it's what I have.

100 Mbps sounds like the bandwidth of your ethernet card
256k sounds like the download speed of your internet connection
but to compare the numbers themselve
256k = 256,000 bps
100 Mbps = 100,000,000 bps
