Of the eleven Iraq war vets running for office as a US Senator or Represenitive ten are running as Democrats.

Could it be that they, too, are tired of the corruption?

As a military person, I can attest to the fact that most military personnel are more likely to be republican than democrat, but I can also attest to the fact that this is generally due to misinformation (they believe Clinton downsized the military whereas that had already occurred by the time he took office).

As for current military personnel running for office, alot of current military people are pretty fed up with the current administration, and I've noticed a clear connection between those who are smarter and better able to explain themselves being more upset about this administration than the dumber guys.

Speaking as an Active Duty serviceman, I kind of chuckle at some of the "stats" being introduced in this question. I've seen just as many Democrats and Liberals in the military as I've seen Republican.

Truth be told, a lot of military support Republicans when it comes to voting only because it is in our best interest... Republicans are historically more likely to give raises, benefits and funding to the military than Democrats. Some people vote Republican even though they don't share the same ideological beliefs.

Speaking for myself, the problems are bad on both sides of the parties. Quite frankly, I abhor what the Republicans are doing. At the same time, I hated Clinton. I watched good military personnel get kicked out of active duty because of "moral issues" like being gay, or adultery. Yet here is our Commander in Chief, getting a hummer from a work subordinate in his office. Yeah, great example from the Democrats there.

I think our entire party (and voting) system needs an overhaul. Too many "professional politicians" on both sides of the house.

Hey John Skerry!

She was refering to Irag War Vets! And most libs don't burn flags & spit on the USA. Those are only the most extreme of the most extreme.

And if an active duty military man is FIVE TIMES more likely to be republican than democrat, that only adds to the question as to why 90% of the Iraq Vets are running as Democrats.

Do you actually think your ugly talk changes anyone's minds? This attitude on the left OR right only serves to widen the gap between us & tear our country apart.

And you give the conservatives a bad name!

Speaking as a veteran and now a civilian Army employee, it is because the right wing Republicans have made a mess out of our military. For a list of the chickenhawks (people like Newt Gingrich, basically everyone at Fox Infotainment, Dick "Lawyer-shooter" Cheney, et.a., try http://www.awolbush.com/whoserved.html ) Like John Murtha of Pennsylvania said, the grave markers at Arlington National Cemetery don't say Republican or Democrat, they say American, and the Army is not made up of Republicans; Democrats seem more willing to actually serve their country than the divisive GOP. Blame the tactics of Karl Rove, the worst chickenhawk of all, for the rise in Democrats running for office. And support my friend MAJ Tammy Duckworth--Google her and see what she sacrificed--and other combat veteran Democrats running for office. Unlike Dubya, they walked the walk, not just talked the talk.

Nah, let me help you out here. Of course, there are bound to be a few Democrats in military service (I think they kind of stay in the closet for the most part, though) but the point is that we have such great Republican office holders today that the Republican servicemen see no point in running to displace them.

You WERE also complaining of corruption during the reign of The World's Smartest Man and Queen Hillary the Great, right?

No, you don't listen to the news. Americans know that Democrats hate our military and hate our country, unless they are running things. To try to counter-act this, the Democrat Party searched very hard to find some Democrat Vets. They promised them a lot to run for office. Will this phony ploy fool Americans? Maybe.
The corruption is in the Democrat Party. So if they were tired of it, they wouldn't be running as Democrats.

many are being recruited by the dem party. The more injured they were, the better it seems the dems like them.

I thought the war was justified, however, have recently come to the conclusion that muslims are not capable of running a democratic country and we should get out and leave them to kill each other all they want. When we have the need to wipe out terrorist that build up there, we can do it by air. Our guys and girls do not deserve being stuck in the impossible situation they are in.

Evidently, you missed my last answer, liberal. You still don't post sources for your bogus information.

Maybe you should get a clue, you fanatical leftist instead of spewing your tripe. Ofcourse, it's typical for you.

Conservatives make up nearly 75% of the military while libturds burn flags and spit on USA

This website tells who has served and who hasn't as a politician.

If you did serve in the military (which I doubt), you're in the small minority of anti-military leftists.

Why do you continually pose as mainstream and religious?

that's always a possibility. but there are some states that are considered predominantly democratic andthey know they cannot win if they run as a republican or independent. Do you know for sure they are "sick of the corruption"? Have you seen any ads on tv indicating or are you assigning their decision a purpose that was never theirs but yours by projection only? Just wondering.

Many running believe that the US should pull out because there is nothing the military can do to try to promote democracy in Iraq.
