Went swimming last night and the pool made people itch and us guy's nipples (pecs?) burn. Is there too much chlorine in there or something seriously wrong with the chemicals?

The day after swimming (today) where I was itching last night it kinda still is irritated. Not really red, but still stings a bit.

It was some other guy's pool and we went swimming when it was dark so there were no sunscreen issues. It was probably too much chlorine.

It likely was an elevated chlorine level in the pool, especially if it was a planned party. A lot of owners will bump up the Cl to handle the extra bather load. Low Ph rarely gives symptoms like this, over so many people, perhaps one or two is all. Now if that was a salt water pool, it wouldn't have happened. Hope everyone is ok, the itching will subside after a good shower.

It's too much chlorine, bromine whatever you are using. Nowdays your pool supply company carries Ozone systems, better yet are the chlorine generators, also known as salt systems. They used to be quite expensive but no so much anymore and you can add either to you system. Ask you pool supply, but remember, they are in the business to sell you chemicals, so better yet, do some research on the net. And always rinse off after swimming.

Sounds like too much Chlorine. Better get out the test kit and check the water.

Most likely th pH was too low. You were swimming in an acid solution.
