Vacuum leak problem?, Timing problem?, did you crack a spark plug insulator?, broken plug wire?, carb. idle mixture.? Distributor cap cracked or loose?
retrace what you did , look for loose parts, broken or loose wires and vacuum lines.

Try turning up the idle speed. At the end of the accelerator cable is the carb linkage, there will be a screw that opens up the carb a little more turn that to turn up the idle speed. Look for broken vacuum hoses and check the vacuum hose to the distributor. If the hose to the distributor if off of broken the idle will off. Check all the vacuum hoses on the carb too. If all these don't fix it, advance the timing. Get a timing light to do this one.

it sounds like the spark plugs may not be properly gaped right,,or you may have knocked a vacuum line off some where other than that it should run at idle if it was before,,just take your time and go back over it,,and check everything you done,,you,ll find it somewhere i hope this help,s,,i own a repair shop,,and urge people to do some of there own work,,it helps save them money,,i hope this help,s.

now its time to loosen the bolt on the bottom of your distibutor and adjust the timing through the distributor turn it to the left if it starts harder turn it to the right and adjust the timing a little higher this advances the timing by a degree

first look for any vacuum leaks, second did you accidently turn the distributor, third did you adjust the carb any ???

buy a timing light, make sure carb is adjusted correctly
