I am moving to Florida with my son so that he can have therapy. My husband is staying where we live and he wants us to have an open marriage while I am gone. I will be gone for one year. I don't want to do this because I don't want to end up pregnant or something. Not only that but I don't want him to end up wanting someone else. He thinks its best that we allow eachother to have sex with other people while we are apart. What should I do?

You say you don't want him to end up wanting someone else but basically that is what he is saying....he wants the opportunity and your permission to have other women. By not agreeing to go through with his wishes he may still end up doing exactly what you don't want him to do while you are gone for a year. Do you feel that you can trust to NOT sleep around? If you don't feel you can trust him then maybe you should file for a legal separation or file for divorce.

Hun. Sex s about being with someone you love. Not some stranger. Let me tell you a little something......He is sex crazy and your going to be gone for a year which means bye bye sex for him. All he is looking for is something to stick his dic into. Hun for real??? This guy is actually considering having sex with someone else (not being the one to spend the reast of his life with...being:YOU) Your going to florida just for your sons therapy?? Now thats love. what isnt is "Omg honey your going to be gone for so long i love you and i will miss you so much....BY THE WAY sweetie can I have sex wiith someone besides you" Do not allow this. He will just CRAVE it after he has it with another woman. Another sex mate means a different woman/man which means a different body and different sex moves that he might enjoy better than yours and not want you back. No offense hun but the mans brain is a sick one. All he wants is sumthing to screw. So i would file for divorce if he was een considering that!!! He doesnt love you enough to wait. Hun sorry but that is wack. I hope everything turns out okay for you and your sex addicted husband. Take my addvice hun. Good luck with your move.

DIVORCE HIM, i wouldn't have a husband that even thinks this is okay. He doesn't love you if all he can think about is having sex while you are gone. Get rid of him.....I know you said that you love him, but it sounds like he wants to have sex with other women regardless if you are away or not, this means he will cheat on you, it is strongly on his mind, if he hasn't already. He is trying to get you to agree, so that he doesn't have to feel guilty and if you don't agree he is going to sleep with women anyway ,the only thing is, you won't know about it.
Find yourself a man in Florida or just be by yourself for a little while, but what ever you do Please leave him

It sounds like you and your husband have some underlying issues. I don't know what kind of therapy you'll be taking your son to, but I've seen marriages torn apart with the extra stress of children who have special needs of any sort. I would suggest marriage counseling, if your husband is open to it, but if he's adamant that you have an open marriage, and you don't want to, get a divorce.

Sounds like it is not just your son that needs therapy. Think of the message that something like that would send to your child. How can he ever learn to fulfill his commitments when the most standard of commitments was broken by his parents? Just saying such a thing means your marriage is in deep trouble. Get counseling if he is interested. If he doesn't want it, leave before he kills you with an STD.

Well, I gotta respect the guy. Most guys that want strange sex, outside the marriage simply sneak. It a change to hear of a guy who is honest. Not very bright perhaps, but honest. I suggest, that you tell hubby to forget it. Also, I'd tell him that if you find out he played, it's over, and that after you two get back together, BEFORE he touches you, He gets tested for HIV, poison ivy, clap, syph, crabs, scabies, fleas, warts, dental cavities, athletes foot, gout, TB, acid indigestion, dandruff, and bad karma. I'd also post a list of polygraph testing companies by the phone. And then, IF you get together in a year, I'd require a polygraph test. AND follow through. Dying cuz hubby is horny while you're gone is silly. You should remember, and protect yourself.

Honestly, if he asked such a question, then he doesnt respect you or the vows that you made. Marriage is about trust and honesty. If he asked you such a question, then he has been thinking about it. Or maybe he has already cheated and now he is looking for a way out...if you know what I mean.
I say, tell him NO! And if he doesnt like it, he either deals with it, or maybe time to move on with your life and your sons.

It's your choice and decision. He also has a right to say what he wants. And if sleeping with other is more important than keep you in his life, then I think you guys don't have the same priorities. It will be up to you to make the final decision.

Could you go back at living with him again knowing he slept around with other women?

Why have you accepted to be apart for one year?
What has your husband been putting in his mind that makes him have the attitude he has?
If you are against the idea, stand firm.
Be a brick wall.
Don't give an inch.
He must not only know where you stand, but realize you aren't changing.
