My father was just admitted to the hospital they said his brain was swollen what could it be?

hes going in for test right at the moment and the only reason im at the computer is because im at work and get off at 4pm usa central standard time. From what his wife says the doctors say it can be many of things something simple, or something harsh like a tumor. I just want to be prepared for the best and worst cenario what could my father have besides a brain tumor? Im not exactly sure what else it could be do you?

That is correct, it can be anything from bumping his head hard (like on a cabinet, etc) causing pressure and swelling to the worst scenario, a tumor...so the doctor already told you the best and the worst case scenario. There are so many things in between and too many to list let alone consider until you have a definite answer.
