I am off on holiday to Kefalonia tomorrow (can't wait!) and wanted to know what it was like? Anyone been?

By the way, try to resist the 'clever' answers, I find nothing in the world more infuriating. Go get your 2 points elsewhere. Rant over.

We had a really lovely holiday there a couple of years ago. I hope you've got a hire car lined up because Efemia and (oh I 've forgotten the name of) a really lovely little fishing village at the top of the island are just wonderful. You need a strong nerve to negotiate some of their high and winding roads, but it is so nice there. Take a boat to Lixouri. It's a lovely trip and Lixouri is different from the rest of Kefalonia. We went in May and the island was covered in wild flowers. It's an interesting place with lots to see and loads upon loads of gorgeous outside restaurants (Lassi is good for night time eating). The people are friendly and I have just reminded myself that I must visit it again really soon. I envy you. Question - why on earth does anyone visit the Canary Islands when you can have the Greek Islands?Bon voyage.

The Canary Islands are known for being the sunlight centre of Europe! See this sunlight with hotelbye . Canary Islands provide a gentle temperatures and a selection of remarkable organic attractions. Five of its eight islands have now been declared a Biosphere Reserve, and the archipelago has four national parks. Probably the most fantastic attractions in Canary Islands will be the beaches because they are just perfect for soothing in the sun or experiencing water activities such as for instance windsurfing and scuba diving. In Canary Islands you will also be impressing by the inner appeal like: climbing, period touring, climbing and also caving. Some of the very most magnificent attractions of Canary Islands are: the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote, the beaches of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria making use of their sand dunes, or the green forests of La Palma and La Gomera.
