If you have a CD drive capable of writing onto a disk, your computer should have come with a program that would let you do this. Without your computer specs I cannot answer your question directly.

What I recommend is you put a blank CD into your drive, go to My Computer, open it as though it were a folder, and attempt to put stuff on there... and then see what happens.

Also, you cannot make a CD writable like a floppy - once you write onto a CD, you can't delete stuff from it. For that, I recommend a ZIP Disk, which are rather expensive.

You can't use a CDRW drive as you would a floppy (like File > Save). You have to burn data to the disc for it to be saved (don't understand why this is such a big deal) just drag and drop the saved file (on your hard drive) to the CDRW drive and then you'll be able to open it like a floppy disc but if you modify the file you will then have to save it to your hard drive and burn it to the disc again (possibly under a new file name).

Nero INCD and adaptec directcd. Either one of these will do what you are looking to do. Just install the software format your RW cd and drag/drop copy/paste or save directly to a cdrw.

What is the exact issue that u face when u try to burn the CD. Are you using a software like nero or roxio to burn the CD or r u using just windows to burn . The procedure for both are different. It depends on type of media that you are trying to burn the file on. Please take care of all these.. if still u r not able to burn the file to the CD.. please let me know if you get any error message, or sny other issue in detail.. I am sure I can provide you with some suitable resolution....

You need to have CD packet writing software installed on your computer, for example NERO, ROXIO or SONIC. You can buy the software at your local computer store. If you are willing to deal with a package without the easy to use wizards you can go gor a free alternative at deepburner.com

Usually when you purchase the CD-RW drive if comes with some software for this. But Nero or Adaptec software works. Also I think if using XP, it will allow you to burn to CD's

You must have a software that can access your CD ROM so that you can write on it. I am using NERO right now and it is a good software. I came from my CD ROM when I bought it. Then follow the instructions on how to write on CDs. It has a good graphical interface so that you can easily adapt and write CDs.

Try visiting http://www.deepburner.com/, there's a freeware CD-Burner there. You can't use your CD like floppy, but if you make a multi-session disc using a CD-Burner program, you can add more files to the disc whenever you want.

I don't think it'll act like a floppy disk. You have to burn it.
