If money was no object - and the people you lived with didn't have a say - what piece/type of art would you display in your living room and why?

I'd have a copper rocking horse because I think it would have a lot of character and probably be very tactile.

Over to you:

I think I would go for something with history to it....maybe a large mirror from some big old house or palace, it would have seen so many things over the years...nothing over the top...just lots of character.

If space was no object, I'd get myself a large Jeff Koons balloon piece. Actually, that would be more of an atrium/entrance hall piece, so scrap that. I have my eye on a nice Henry Moore sculpture but it's hard to smuggle out of the Whitworth Gallery...

I already have my dream art up in my living room - a couple of Trechikoffs, a JH Lynch and that 1970s naked folk and swan print. I am classy ;-)

I have a mirror that is specially made and decorated and a couple of oil paintings. I was going to print pictures using my ink jet printer that I collected from the Internet and put them in cheap frames. The ones that are a piece of board and glass and clip together. But that need dusting and cleaning. I now have a virtual art gallery on my laptop and one on my desktop computer. Really cool 3D. You find a picture you like make it into a jigsaw and add music to listen to while you do the puzzle. The finished picture you display in your virtual gallery and with a laptop - show off your art collection to visitors. There is a screen shot of what the gallery looks like on my website and you get the software from Tibosoftware. We even have a Jigsaw and Art group on Yahoo if you want to join. The link to that is on my website too. Another cool idea is to use you TV as a work of art. I've done a DVD slide show of pictures with music. Very relaxing - sends me to sleep - but the programs are that boring they send me to sleep too! LOL

I have a reasonably large painting in my living room at the moment 5ft by 5ft, Its an abstract painting of an early jazz band in very moody colours, i choose it because i like jazz music and i find i get lost in the colours and the setting. It took me a long time to actually figure out what instrument each musician was playing. Its an original and was expensive at the time of purchase but to me was well worth the cash as it is quite a talking point for those who have never seen it before.

I would have an enormous painting of my pitbull LuLu. One that would take up a whole wall with different colors in the background. Maybe a life size statue of a tiger with real emeralds for the eyes.

Prehaps a glass sculpture would be nice.
Why? because I like glass.
