there are a lot of reasons
(1) parents do not take the time to talk to their children about the cons of sex and the results of sex.
(2) they are young and want to be cool.that means they do not want to be the virgin..
(3) they think they are mature enough and adult enough to have a baby
(4) pressure, alcohol, drugs are sometimes a key factor
(5) the TV,Internet,etc..too much porn on these
(6)they are not old enough to make the right choice yet

Because of a strong will and a lack of education. They are too young to foresee the consequences of their actions most of the time. Those who do it on purpose do so because they think they are bringing someone into the world who is going to give them the love they are not getting from family friends, etc., and they have no idea of the amount of work that comes with raising a child. Also, television, which is a staple among young people, glorirfies sex and makes it seem like such a casual thing, like taking out the trash or shopping for groceries. They also think someone will be there to pick up the pieces for them when they get themselves into that situation.

Because all they see on TV and in the movies is how "love" makes everything perfect, and sex is acceptable at any age, regardless of emotional commitment or marital fidelity. It's okay to have sex with every boy in school because it makes you "popular". Some girls run away from bad family environments by using sex as their ticket out. The media glamorizes sex, tells young girls they have to look "sexy" by wearing revealing clothes, and playing tawdry sex games. Young boys are told they have to be "cool" and "studly" and that girls are "trophies" to be collected without regard for any deep, intense feelings or sense of commitment. Too bad. -RKO-

because they're physically able to if they have sex after going through puberty. young pregnancies have been happening since the beginning of time and will continue until the end of time. it's not acceptable in some societies and in others it's normal. i think we just hear more about them now because people didn't really talk about it and tried to hide away their pregnant teens only a few decades ago.

Because they think babies are cute when their someone else's tiny clothes, baby is the center of attention, some may even want to trap a guy thinking he'll want to stay. Back when I was in high school it seemed you were the minority if you didn't have a baby ( I liked being part of that minority group!)But wait until those girls find out that babies grow into toddlers that drive you to drink!!!

They are having sex younger now and get PG. There are a lot of them but this is nothing new...It was like this back in the 80's. I knew a girl once at 13 that had a baby. I'd rather see them have them then kill em'

This is increasing through out the world. I have seen a documnetary recently on tv regarding this. In one school just one school there were 58 pregnancies reported. Most of this kids that were interviewed said that when invited to their boyfriends home (the fathers of these babies who are also in school) that there was no adults around. Adult supervision is vital. I think in todays society whereby both parents have to work to make end meet, the children are left on their own to do as they please. It is a sad world we are living in.

You think girls didn't get pregnant at a young age 200yrs ago? Hell, it was more of a problem back then, then it is now.
And they get pregnant from not using birth control.

they don't have fathers that care enough to stick around and show them what a real man is, they don't have parents that can watch them 24/7 and know exactly what they are doing and the "extended family" that used to be so dominate in children's lives has almost ceased to exist. Our government has stuck it's nose so far up our backsides that we aren't allowed to be parents to our children any longer, therefore we can't enforce our rules on our children or punish their behavior when they need punishment!

because girls are becoming sexually active at a younger age who are perhaps uninformed on the usage of birth control and condoms. (they are also too young to purchase these on their own and may be uncomfortable asking their parents)
