I think you're screwed on that one. I tried to find this book that I used to have titled "Fix It, Clean It, Make It Last" that had answers to all kinds of questions like this. I must have lost it in the move.

Mr. Clean wall washing foam square - the same thing they use to wash walls off - rub only in one direction.
