There were many, many reasons that the Beatles split up. Basically, they were at the point where they were being defined as a single identity rather than their own individual selves. John and Paul were going in massively different directions, but George and Ringo were as well. They were to the point where they were becoming different, and wanted different things. They fought over many things...

If you want to see the breakup of the Beatles, watch the Let It Be film. You'll see it happen. Then listen to the song "Two of Us". It's all right there for you.

Yoko was just the "change" John was waiting for to get out. They were all rather stressed out and bored with what they were doing at that point and they all wanted out at one time or another, even Ringo, due to the fact that Paul was adding in his own drumming to his songs instead of Ringo's work. Remember, this is basically the first band that had done it all, seen it all and been through a enormous grind for years. Even if John hadn't met Yoko, they probably wouldn't have lasted much longer as a group. George and Paul had already worked on solo projects by that time too.

john used to split the royalties equally, but then Yoko persuaded John to demand more as on a lot of tracks he did more than 50%..
John and Yoko also wanted this arrangement to be backdated to when the band first got signed.

As you would expect, Paul was none to happy and this lead to a year of bitter resentment beforethey finally packed the whole thing in. Actually, George used to pop round to John's all the time and work on stuff, so half the beatles still made music till John was done in

Linda Eastman and Yoko Ono. They were both exerting influence and pressure to the detriment of the entire band. It was pretty much in the works anyway.........Ringo had resigned (briefly) and then realizing that he had just jumped off the gravy train, revoked his resignation.. Paul had already begun his own solo recordings when Abbey Road was recorded, and the rest of the band knew what time it was. It was never absolutely inevitable, though, as the hit single for the album after Abbey Road was in the can (Come and Get It), and the problems they were having could have been overcome with patience and mediation.

However, Come and Get It was given to Badfinger, and everyone went their separate ways.

Paul wanted to do things his way. George and Ringo were getting tired of being left out of the creative process. John wanted to be with Yoko all the time.

However they decided to put out 1 more album "Abby Road" and they knew I would be their last and it changed the whole dynamic of the process. They "Came Together" and worked as a team and put out a great album.

But in "The End" it came down to Apple Records. No one could manage it very well and they kept looking for a new manager. Paul wanted Linda Eastman's dad and the other 3 wanted John's new manager, Allan Klien. So Paul was voted down. Then came the new manager's contract. The contract was written for the manager to get 20%. They came to the studio on a Saturday and tried to get everyone to sign it. Paul read it and wanted to change it to 15%. They insisted that it stay 20% and he sign it now. He said it was a weekend we can wait till Monday. They said he had to sign it now or never.

Paul never signed the contract. Soon after that he announced that he had quit the band.

Which split?!?

Pete Best got replaced with Ringo
Stu departed / died
Fight over who would be the Beatles manager
Who knows?

Rumor of Beatles reunion, that never happened ... due to remaining band members dying. Pete, Ringo & Paul are the only ones living.

John spending more time with Yoko. Paul with his. They just drifted apart. The announcement seemed sudden because nobody wanted to believe it.

Because of the troubles between McCartney and Lennon, they always competed with each other like two captains on a ship.
Besides that they had enough of all the hassle around them.

Yoko was just used as a scapegoat by all those people who couldn't live with the idea that they split up.
