Casinos will be north of the MO river in Kansas City, MO, about 30-45 minutes from where you'll be. Here's a google link http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&lr=&q=casino&near=Kansas+City,+MO&sa=X&oi=local&ct=title Amusement park is 1, Worlds of Fun, it will be open on weekends only. http://www.worldsoffun.com/
For night life head to Westport in KC, MO. Kelly's Pub is a local staple, America's Pub is great too. I believe there's a comedy club at Metcalf South Mall at 95th and Metcalf. Depending on when you're in town, you might be able to catch "Hairspray"' at Kansas City's Starlight theater, one of the nations largest outdoor amphitheaters. http://www.kcstarlight.com/ You can also head over to KC, KS, there's the Kansas Speedway, Cabela's (a HUGE sports store--outdoor type stuff), and probably some stuff that's opened up since I last drove over there. Best places to eat...well, Kansas City is the right town for eating...we've got some of the best barbecue in the nation, Hayward's is great (it's at College Blvd and Antioch in Overland Park--by Corporate Woods), and Fiorella's Jack Stack is great too, they have a location downtown KC, MO, one in Overland Park (95th and Metcalf), one in Martin City (135th and Holmes), and I know there's a 4th location, but I can't remember where right off the bat. If you have a chance, go down to the Country Club Plaza in KC, MO, it's shopping...the architecture is very neat though--very Spanish--and you'll probably even see the guys starting to string the Christmas lights! There's also many beautiful fountains on the Plaza, including the signature J.C. Nichols Fountain. There's a Cheesecake Factory on the Plaza as well. I can probably answer some more specific questions as well, just email me. Enjoy your visit to KC!!
