How do you remove the white trim clips without breaking them? Is there a special tool? It looks like you pry between the end and the circular part that moves and this will release the clip. Is that right?

There is a special tool for that i have 1 it looks like a fork with the fork ends being fat. Most of the time even the fork will break the clips because of their age. You can try a wide flat-head screwdriver. But you probably will have to pick up the bullet clips at a parts house or the dealer.

Yes,there are special tools for the removal of these clips. The rookie described one of them,I have two types. The fork type he described will work, but like he said,on older cars they tend to break the clips or pull them through the door panel. The other type I have are like a thin blade plier with small notches in the blade in two places. The handles are at a 45degree angle to the blade. This makes it easier to get a hold on the clip and apply pressure to the metal of the door thereby not harming the door panel.Even then, the clips sometimes break, but they'er cheap.Got mine from Snap On
