Do you mean the creatures you see when you have sleep paralysis? No, I don't think they're real; I saw one that was definitely a projection of my own mind. It was like all the things I detest and don't want to be like. It was just evil, cold, cruel and spiteful.
A friend of mine went through a really bad time til I managed to find out that he'd had one, and thought he'd gone mad. We talked about it, and I put him on to the Night Terrors resource centre, and told him what I'd seen. It turned out he felt the same way, that it was a projection of a negative self.
Its as if you take all the stuff you don't want, and dissociate from it; you say 'that's not me' and project it outside.
So you can't catch one. Its a figment of your own brain.

I had this happen to me, I guess, I woke up just in time to see this horrible dark shadowy creature crawl up the side of my bed and onto my torso, it was holding me down, i was unable to move and i tried screaming for my mom, but was unable to make a sound, the pressure was unreal, difficulty breathing and i felt for sure that this thing was evil. Two days later I watched Sylvia Browne on Montel and a woman on the show described the exact same thing. Sylvia said that she had caught herself coming back in from an astral projection, and scared herself, and was resisting, which was where the pressure was coming from. Who knows though. I much prefer this answer to any hag coming after me.

Funny, though that so many sufferers of sleep paralysis report seeing such similar things. I've had a few episodes of this and since all I was able to move were my eyes and my pinky, I don't see that capturing one is going to be very feasible.

Wow. Thanks Peabrain Noggin. I had a friend that had that happen to him and he said he felt the thing all over him. He also said that the only part of his body that he could move were his eyes. He swore the thing was holding him down.
I'm going to have to look into this night terror syndrome. Thanks again.
Thank you poopoo for posting this question.
