I'm 59. My short answer is 'a better tomorrow.'

It is most important to me that the next year be better than the previous year. I know that's unconscionably vague, but the criteria for 'better' are necessarily peculiar to me. I won't borrow your sense of what's better, nor will I thrust mine upon you, although I will reveal some of my thoughts:

Advance to betterment counts, even when it's small advance. E.g., if I can get you to consider my agenda, that's a small advance, even if you reject my idea after consideration. Turning it around, don't you think it better that I know what you want? Or are you basically a schemer?

Open communication between humans mutually recognizing each other's humanity looms large. I think it deeply important that I understand what you seek. I might oppose you, in some cases, but (more often, I think) you and I may find that we seek the same goods--and can therefore cooperate, to swifter attainment of those goods. Where we stand in opposition, but have full understanding of each other's desires, compromises may be possible. And where the desires are mutually contradictory, some 'compensatory compromises' may be feasible. The whole approach greatly reduces strife, which I think wasteful.

The short list of probably common 'good ends' must contain 'continued healthy life among friends.' but everything after that is (I think) peculiar to the individual. E.g., the overwrought little red Italian convertible is something I'd swap for a decent cheeseburger, while that same car is the Holy Grail for some.

I am 59. The most important things to me are respect, love, helping other people and a period of quiet time just for me every day in this sequential order.

There are only two things in life that are very important to me….

And both of them are money…

Old enough to know better…
Young enough not to care…

The most precious thing to me is compassion. Without it, you cannot find happiness or love because either you are too cold to feel the warmth from others, or you cannot project it. I am 23

I'm 35. What's important to me? In no particular order:

Leading a rational life, a free life, and a happy life. (For me, these are largely one in the same.)

My wife's happiness.

Experiencing life.

Always continuing to learn and to stretch my mind.
