Before breaking into real estate on my own, I worked with a realtor to purchase my first home. The ordeal was bitter sweet.

While I'm certain I didn't receive the worst of service, I don't believe I received the service that I should have considering he made a pretty penny from my sale.

I did not receive a walk thru the day before closing.

After my close I discovered several items that were supposed to be included in the sale - were not in the home anymore.

My realtor did a horrible job of following up with the selling realtor to determine what happened to the extra ammenities.

The home warranty that was advertises and supposed to be included was suddenly 'not an option' and again my realtor didn't seem to press the issue.

The house was inspected using an inspector suggested by my realtor, I feel this was all a gimmick because years later I learned of several exterior problems with the property that should have been disclosed in the inspectors report. But they weren't.

Now I am all the wiser and decided the next time I purchase or sell - I'm handling the transaction myself. I just feel that the realtor made it all too transparent he was only in it for the money and once the sell was done, whether I was happy or received all that was supposed to have been included in the sale he really did not care.
