i think its kinda like "the closer you get to the light, the bigger your shadow gets". it could mean we are all more evil than we think, or it can mean that the effects we have on this world are larger than we are ourselves.

To me, it could be one of two things.
1) They are saying that the "sun is setting" on their lives, like they are close to heaven. When the sun sets, your shadow is very long, taller than your body at least. This seems like the most poetic and meaningful explanation.
2) It could be a little more mundane. They could just be saying that they have little/no soul. So their shadow is taller than it. A little more base than the first one, but it makes sense in some way.

All of my toddlers. God made us in His image. this does not mean we get to make Him in ours. and a few issues surpassed off after God made guy in His image. like the autumn. After that, human beings have been given to decide for in spite of if or no longer they needed God for a Father.
