If you believe or consider reincarnation, could it be that homo-sexuality exists because people have been the same sex for several life times before this one and are now the opposite sex and are habituated to there previous sex?

Now I have heard it all. I definitely give you points for origninality though. I do believe in reincarnation, so this actually gave me pause for a few moments

I don't know of any life philosphy that considers this an origin of homosexuality.

The two main theories are genetics or nuture - something that happens as you are raised through puberty. Some consider it a combination of the two.

Genetics seems likely to play at least a part - homesexual couples exist in other species, so it seems unlikly that this could be purely environmental.

I'm not sure why the origins are of significance in any case. It is regardless a naturally occuring sexual orientation, just as being heterosexual is - and no-one concerns themselves about why some people turn out to be straight!

Nope. There is no "either black or white", there are many more colours. There is no "either sweet or sour", there are many more flavours. Sexuality cannot be strictly divided into two groups, as simple as that, and therefore....
...the cause of homo-sexuality is the cause of a world which does not exist in extremes only. it is the intertwinment of elements that makes the world as complex and beautiful as it is.

I believe in reincarnation, in karma, and that we relatively choose the best path for our evolution as individuals in that journey. I do not consider it to involve sexuality nor gender. That is a phisical sphere manifestation, and has little to do with reincarnation (metaphisical sphere).
If when you die you get rid of your phisical existence, why would you reincarnate according to what you mentioned as possible?

Now, for example, homo-phobia. it involves hatred, denial, or a sort of patological behaviour based on fear and need of affirmation. That can be related to Karma, according to the logic i've mentioned^^
So your previous self can make a person homophobic, but not homo sexual.

maybe that explains the transgendered people who feel they were born in the wrong body, i actually have a female friend who knows she's a man in many past lives. i myself have many past life memories but i was almost always a man..........native american legend tells that originally there were three sexes and people were connected by twos there were man/man, man/woman, and woman/woman, these were very powerful beings and the gods decided to separate them. the gods sent down lightning and it split each being into two halves, which is why humans are always looking for the other half we lost.

well, I haven't heard that philosophy before, although it's a interesting one.
I still firmly believe that it's genetic, and that we are all born this way. some may not recognize until later in life, especially if they've been raised by a family that's taught them that it's "wrong."
as far as the nurture theory, as I knew no one at all growing up who was openly gay, no one in my family and met no one openly gay until I had already figured out that I was....I'd say that theory is not at all true.

Medical science has it down to either genetics, or a hormonal balance in the womb, or maybe a combination of the two.

That's a very interesting theory. I never thought about that before. But it could make sense.
