i asked my 6 year old neice if she watches looney tunes and she had no idea what is or was. i'm sure most of them are familiar with the characters (bugs, daffy, etc). i loved it. i miss my cartoons :(

I know! It's really sad. My one nephew loves older cartoons like Tom & Jerry and Looney Toons, but my sister's son has no idea what it is! He's like "Aunt Jen, Michael just said he wanted to watch the Flintstones. What is that?" So I made him sit down and watch it. Most kids just know the newer cartoons that are on Cartoon Network. Some kids don't even know cartoons from a few years ago, like Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo!

Because of a few reasons.

1) Cartoons used to be on only Saturday mornings and a couple hours after school Now there are toons of 24 cartoon channels.

2) A lot of the cartoons have been deemed politically incorrect.

Sad isn't it?

Yeah they changed them to more XXXX-TREMEEEEEE!!! versions. They have way more ATTITUDE and cool costumes and slanted-anime-type eyes. It's disgusting. I can't find Looney Tunes (or Merrie Melodies, ect.) anywhere on TV anymore. The only "old" show I can find anymore is Tom and Jerry, which I never liked that much.

Maybe they'll put a bunch on DVD someday, to preserve good cartoons for the future of mankind.
