try swapping the fuel injector from the cylinder next to it and see if that cyl. misfires. it could also be a clogged egr valve that would cause it to misfire,or even a bad ECU. 10 yrs. experience,Certified Acura tech 2 yrs.

I would eliminate the possibility of a bent valve just yet. Make sure you have spark at the #3 coil tower, do this by taking the wire off the coil, and the wire next to it.... see if there is a spark jump between the 2. Then reconnect the wires... on #3 wire at the spark plug end, stick a screwdriver into the wire and place it hitting a metal surface, see if you have spark there. Remove the sparkplug from #3 cyl... check the plug gap to ensure it isnt closed, then attatch the plug to the wire and check for spark. Chances are you have a 3.4 engine, #3 plug is in the center in the back cylinder head. If you have spark after all the tests, check to make sure the cyl 3 injector is firing, to do this you will need to pull the plenum off (upper intake). It is also possible to have a bad headgasket, you can check that by doing a compression test on #3 cylinder.

Have an injector balance test done on the car, that will tell you if the injector is bad. Also have a scope pattern done on the ingition circuit. Compair the patterns to see if the coil, or ignition module,
plug wire, or plug may be bad. I've seen new components out of the box fail.

If it's not the plug, wire, or injector then it's the HEI coil. If it's not that then it's an internal problem. My best guesses, hole in piston, seized or blown valve or valves, bad cam.

When you had tuneup done, did the wires get changed as well? If not, have them switched out too. Old wires break when being pulled to replace plugs.

It could be a number of things, like the Autozone guy says, it could be a bad plug or wire. It might also be your timing--which I believe is computer controlled. You will need to take it to a mechanic and have in run diagnostics. When was the last time you had the plugs replaced?

well that vehicle doesnt have a distributor, could be a coil breaking down. that vehicle has two or three coils, depending on engine. check that, also do a compression check, that would tell you if that cylinder is down.
