Is it just this particualr brand of lasagne that makes you feel ill, or are there other packaged foods that have the same effect?

One additive to which a lot of people react badly is monosodium glutamate (MSG), which is the sodium salt of glutamic acid (glutamate). It's a flavour enhancer best-known for being the ingredient that makes people feel sick after eating a Chinese takeaway, but it gets put into a hell of a lot of processed foodstuffs these days as well (because it's a cheaper ingredient than something with real flavour!). Any of the above phrases (MSG, glutamate, monosodium glutamate, flavour enhancer) may be on the ingredient list.

Best thing to do is just check the ingredients before you buy the packet. Or make your own—it's not difficult, nor does it take a long time (albeit longer than microwaving, admittedly)—and you can put exactly what you want into it, not what some labrat preferred.

Personally, I hate this pervasive prepackaged, processed, "convenience" food culture, and I'm convinced that it's at least partly responsible for a lot of the dietary and health problems that people seem to have these days (e.g diabetes, food allergies, intolerances). There's probably a case to be made blaming it for pimples and cellulite, too!

And don't even get me started on fast food burger franchises (unnamed because they'll get this entry pulled if I single any one out). Remember, if "you are what you eat", then don't eat s***.

My mum has the same problem with pasta dishes containing oregano. There may be some in the meat sauce in the lasagne, and this might be what's causing your stomach upsets.

Avoid this brand and buy another brand of lasagne. Check and see if the recipe contains oregano. If not, then it is probably one of the ingredients or additives which makes you feel sick

It does sound as if you have an intolerance to one of the ingredients. Intolerance, by the way, is not different to an allergy it is is merely lower down on the spectrum of reaction.

Food intolerances, asthma etc are becoming more and more common, they were almost unheard of two generations ago. The likely reason is the prevalence of sub-toxic amounts of thousands of artificial compounds in evrything that we eat, breathe and drink.

It makes you think:

a) What happened to survival of the fittest?
b) When are people going to say 'enough is enough' with the additives and the environmental poisons?

because it is horrible. If you are a tesco fan try their "Finest Lasagne" - 4.99 and feeds 4 people - is very nice. Far easier to make your own. If u want a recipe, email me.

You may have an intolerance to one or more of the ingredients. If it makes you feel unwell then you should stop eating it. Food intolerance is different from food allergies but needs to be looked at so you know where you stand. These type of problems can develop at any age and everyone affected displays different symptoms. It is worth checking out. Good Luck.

It doesnt agree with you because it is a revolutionary pasta meal and you, in your own way, add to the opression of all beef bit enhanced ready meals, keeping them in their lowly state, never to enhance themselves with true freedom.
It CANT agree with you on principal although I am led to think it wishes you no permenant and specific harm and just wants mutual respect and a place to call its own.

Oh and the sausages are revolting too......lol

Maybe you are asking it the wrong type of question or perhaps you are just different personalities.

Not sure, but it doesn't with me either.

Must be something dodgy in the processing.
