Should be easy on Microsoft Excel, or any other spreadsheet program. The hard part will be enduring the shock when you see how much you really spend. And don't forget to calculate all the things that are taken out of your paycheck before you even see it, like taxes, insurance, etc. Those are expenses, too. The taxes and involuntary insurance (such as state disability, which we have here, and social security) total will shock you. When I was working at a reasonably middle-class job last year, I was paying over $200 PER WEEK for withholding taxes and involuntary deductions.

The easiest way it to use the copy of Money or Quicken that comes with most computers. The next way is to use the spreadsheet program, Works or Excel, that came with your computer. If you have none of these you can download OpenOffice.org which is a free office package comparable to Microsoft Office and is free.

Here is a pretty cool Windows program I use, it works great for bills! :) (and you can take notes, plan stuff, and lots more!)
http://www.essentialpim.com/
One really cool feature is once you add some note or event to a certain day/date on the calendar, instead of having to go in and edit it, you can just drag and drop it to another day if you need to, VERY handy when planning bills ;)
Have fun!!!!! :)
