-Take a look at the sparkplugs. When CBR's (even the 600's) foul the plugs just a tincy bit, the bike won't start. Be prepaired, the spark plugs are expensive!
-When you turn on the key, can you hear the fuel pump? The 929's had fuel pump problems.
-The fuel injectors could be clogged if the bike has been sitting.
-The "kill sensor" could be bad (tip over switch). When the bike falls over, as in a crash, the kill sensor turns the bike off. Check for spark with a good plug.
-The resistor in the ignition switch could be bad. If it is, the ecm wouldn't power up (you'll need a shop manual to tell you which wire to check and what the resistance should be).
-Could be just the kill switch on the handle bar switch (again, check for spark).
