people don't like me just because I'm a quiet person?

i'm nice and friendly
and i believe i'm very smart
why can't people see that?
what am i doing wrong?
cause i can't change the personality i have

ps: i usually never whine like this with people around me

There's nothing wrong with being quiet and reserved,I'm in the same boat.You could try to fake it,being someone you're not to gain friends and popularity.But I don't recogmend it,no one likes a phoney.Just be yourself,show you care and are interested in others.That in the end matters more because people will then see who you really are and like you for that,what's on the inside.Besides there's too many people out there that need to take some lessons off of us quiet people.Being shy,etc can be a blessing,you don't miss much along the way.

Nothing wrong with being a quiet person. It just sounds as if you might need to put yourself "out there" a little, even if it is hard to do. Try talking to new people when you are in gatherings. Put yourself into situations where you feel comfortable. Listen to others who seem like they are socially comfortable

It's alright sweetheart, my boyfriend is the same way and I love him more than the air I breathe. I thought he was a jerk to to be honest but you gotta keep comiong back for more. Sometimes you just need to put your inhibitions beside and jump in head first because sticking your foot in just isnt going to cut it anymore. I am sure you'll find some loyal friends and a loyal woman to love and then they can carry oin about how great you really are inside!

You're telling the story of my life !!! In addition to it, people tell me (when they get to know me closely) that they've never imagined me to be such an amicable and congenial person!!! I've never tried to change my personality or behavior because that would make me a rather pretentious person. okay dude u have to realize that we live in a social world and a very judgement mentle one so just because ur nice and smart, its not going to help, so what ill tell you to do is go to more public places were you have to talk and have fun like six flags, water parks or more like clubs u kow try places ur not use to u only live once and do u wanna be known as that queit person hell no go have fun talking is a very powerful thing. u only live once have fun.
