limewire.com is the best, but you have to download the program. i wanted first to download bearshare, but my antivirus found something suspicious about it

you can use the search engine www.dogpile.com and type in the artist and song title, and then click "audio" and they will return all audio results they found. look at the time of the songs that show up to see if they're :30 second samples or actual full songs, then just right click and "Save target as...". this works because the search engine searches for websites or hosts that are hosting that song (which means someone uploaded it to a website, NOT p2p). usually, you won't find really obscure songs, nor is it common to find full albums, but if it's like some song you heard on the radio and you liked it, there's a good chance you'll find it here =)

Ares is least complicated and free
Limewire sometimes has songs and movies ares dont
bearwhare and donkey comes with too much junk and complex

Itunes has at least one free downloadable song per week, you can check every Tuesday. Also try limewire, all the songs are downloadable with no cost. Both of them are not website, you have to install them first.

I definitely recommend limewire. I've been using it for over two years and have never been a problem. I ALWAYS find what I'm looking for on there- and there isn't a problem with pop-ups and ads. You can pay the extra for the premium, but I wouldn't.

Ares p2p is free.... Limewire is also good.... you may also wanna get Peer Guardian 2 to protect you privacy,
