Your family is only worried about your well being because they love you. I say go for it for true love.

Just know that the influence of the imperfection in the one you love that they see, will make life more difficult for you. Your family just doesn't want to see you in hard times.

One thing I know is that you can't be happy in the midst of the good times in this world without true love. Your relatives will get over it. They'll always be your family.

Honey, I saw your profile. It's way too early for you to think of marriage. You should have a heart to heart talk with your favorite parent about this guy and his family.

Yes, my daughter did it twice and I still Love her. We still talk, do things and I respect her choices. You have to have a mature, functional family for that to happen though. You will have to make a choice, sweetie. I wonder when parents and family are going to lean that adult children have a right ot make their own choices and make their own mistakes in life??? You will not be loosing your families respect.....they don't have any!!!

if you fell in love with someone, that your family doesnt approve i mean way your options.
see what he does or she does that influences you love.
maybe you should elope
then again family first
ask why your family doesnt like them,
if hes not family oriented then, drop him

I would give my family exactly as much ear-time as the folks at Ask Yahoo. They know you well but they don't know him nearly as well as you do. Maybe they're smarter than you are about relationships, maybe they just know you better than you know yourself. I'd listen to your friends as well, they're a better source of information than your family, certainly less prejudiced. Ultimately I'd listen to yourself. Your family isn't going to be affected by your decision anywhere near as much as you will.

No. No one knows who you are more than your family. They want what is best for you and it is not him.
