Usually when you have difficulty in an area and don't know why, you are dealing with learned behavior. You have learned this behavior from one or both of your parents.
It sounds like a parent figure in your life has difficulty accepting their own mistakes. I don't know how old you are, but life is too short to be living that way.
When you reach your mid 30's, you will discover how these things are crippling you, and will probably take steps to correct your behavior.
Loving yourself is one of the best ways to learn to see yourself as you truly are, and stop denying you have no problems.
