personally i think its a big shell game ... the US is exerting it influence in the middle east and is imposing its policy there in full force. Iran and Syria see that in the future, very near future i might add, that they will be forced to bend before american will and will be rendered powerless ... this causes them deep concern especially for religeous reasons but also because it renders them powerless in their own countries to ever be an influential force in world affairs. So, the current situation i think is a planned attempt to out manuever the US before the inevitable happens ... iran would like to buy enough time to get an arsenal of nukes so the US cant impose their will on them and syria is right with them on that i think... i think iran was hoping it could draw some other major players into the conflict and turn enough of the arab world into their support that it could head off the US' plans to pull their teeth so to speak. So yes, this is how i see it ... what should be done? well iran has just basically said it rejected everything proposed on its nuclear program and has vowed to step it up ... the mess in lebanon may not be over and there still yet may be other developements ... it could result in iran actually buying itself more time who knows it remains to be seen ... but i think its pretty definite that irans nuclear program will literally be toast very soon unless they actually succeed in causing the fighting in lebanon to work majorly to their benefit ... they think everything happening with the fighting is the precursor to their version of the "messiah" showing up to defeat Israel for them so that thinking makes them make irrational decisions ... kinda like hussein did ... make alot of irrational choices that didnt make sense and ultimately got his country blowed up and Him arrested and on trial.

Iran/Syria and Israel have never really hit if off. Thats possibly due to the view that Iran/Syria/Most Arab Nations have in that Israel is illegally occupying Arab land. Whereas Israel are saying they're defending themselves against terrorists.

Personally? I dont agree with the Israeli nation but thats just my POV so dont be up in my face about it. I wouldnt be at all suprised if Iran and/or Syria were pulling the strings behind this conflict, but until this is proved I dont think anything should be done about it. Obviously the people who would do anything about this would be the Americans. If Iran/Syria publicly came out and supported Hezbollah the US would have to get involved. Well it couldnt very well abandon Israel could it?

Of course they are behind the attacks on Israel. This is one reason that America didn't push on to Baghdad during "Desert Storm". Saddam's Iraqi army, the fourth largest standing army in the world with one million men before their defeat in Desert Storm, was left intact and Saddam was not disarmed, because Iraq and Syria were his enemies.

And Lebanese and Israeli civilians are dying while the US and Syria/Iran are engaged in a 'safe' war of words.
