yeah - August 6 - I was actually referring to the day that 140,000 civilians were killed in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, and the world in general became a more dangerous place, with the threat of thermonuclear war..

actally "jim_h" I am "smart enought to read" - and purposely avoided discussing the context of Hiroshima or justification of it.. I am well aware that many more lives (esp. Japanese soldiers) would have been lost if the war had not ben brought to a close.
Nevertheless - August 6 DID change our world forever and brought the horrors of war and more specifically the threat to non-combatants and civilians to a whole new level - and THAT is what I am referring to : not the combatants per se, but the willingness to employ weapons of mass destruction on civilian populations..
