you can only increase your RAM by adding more memory. It depends on your laptop and what type of memory it uses as to the cost. If it's proprietary memory expect to pay much more for it. Do you have an available slot to add another stick of memory?
Just be sure you get the correct memory for your machine and you can't mix and match different types.

one more thing, bring ur notebook along if u decided to go to buy the ram and ASK them to install it for u, to save the trouble in case it can't work when u went home.
