Nobody really laughs when they say "lol" or "Roflmaothdflfre".
Most people who use internet slang alot have no emotions and must type them instead of actually doing what they say.

Well, no of course not, as then I would be sans buttocks, and while it may be a bit large for me, I'm still rather attached to it.
Whilst a young lad, I did find occasion to laugh so hard (ok, yeah, I was being tickled, but still) that I would be rolling on the floor laughing.
I have since gained enough willpower to resist the urge for floor giggling and thus, instead of actually following through with the act, I will sometimes substitute an acronym which means that, in essence, I'm laughing so hard right now that if I were a younger less sophisticated fellow, I might be currently sharing the carpet with the cats and dogs.
Now, when I do write LOL, I typically am laughing audibly, and this is a nice way to indicate to the other person who may be without the ability to hear my laughter, that I am doing so.
Love and laughter as always,
Sebastian

Suppose for a moment that the person WAS ACTUALLY rolling on the floor laughing. How would they type ROTFLMAO when they are hurtling across the shag rug?
Second, if their a** really came off during the experience, I doubt it would be a laughing matter as they struggled to remain conscious from the blood loss and the shock of seeing their a** detached!! :-)

No, I have not had anything make me laugh like that, but I use ROTFL and LOL . Mostly to express how funny I thought something was. If it is just funny or made me smile then I will write LOL, but if it really made me laugh I will put ROFL. I have never literally rolled on the floor but I am pretty sure the other person knows what I mean :)

Oh, I laugh alright. I have a ball in life. I've laughed so hard I have fallen out of my chair and rolled on the floor. That is the only way to live, man. You gotta be able to laugh.

I've laughed very hard at some of the things I've seen and read on the net, but, of course, not rolling on the floor..
It's just that roflmao conveys greater laughter or humor at a joke or something of that nature.

I agree that I can watch "Whose Line Is It Anyway" and LOL. I would probably ROTFLMAO if that were physically possible. And it doesn't matter how many times I have seen the episode.
I even LOL at Mythbusters...

There was one time I literally fell on the floor and laughed until I cried. I was talking to my boyfriend with MSN Messenger and I said "Shut up or I'll stick my c*ck in your mouth." When I meant "Shut up or I'll stick my sock in your mouth." We had a inside joke thing about socks and well, I typoed. He was so confused. That was before we were going out.
