You go to the county courthouse, or Family Court and request the forms for a petition to modify the support order, fill them out and file them. With your wage level you may even be able get the filing fees waived.

A paralegal will not be able to help you. A paralegal is not allowed to practice law, and preparing the petition for you would constitute the practice of law.

I recommend that you consult your local bar association and see if there are any programs available that have reduced rates available. If not, then you may have to spend the money for an attorney. This can be a complicated procedure, especially if you try it yourself.

For instance, if I were representing the other side, I would want to know why you went from $17/hr to $8/hr. If it was voluntary, or if I uncovered evidence you arranged to get fired, etc, I would argue to the court that you were doing this merely to force a reduction in child support, and they should deny the request. I hope this is not the case.

Regardless, having an attorney do this will probably cost less in the long run that if you start it, get stuck, and then have to pay an attorney to undo the mess from having tried it yourself.

Contact your local or state bar association for a referral if you don't know an attorney.

Phil R is probably legally correct. However, filling out a form SHOULDN'T be considered practicing law. Assisting someone with legal matters SHOULDN'T require a license as long as no misrepresentations are made.

NOTE: This is NOT legal advise. I just stated that the law is WRONG.

I almost feel like I am you. Almost the exact same thing happened to me. If you cannot find the forms, write a letter to the original judge explaining your situation.
Fortunately,
I found the documents

Look both of these over carefully and read all the documentaiton.
