I recommend McAfee Security Suite...everything on it :)
This is what I do to protect my computer:
1> Scan your computer for spyware/adware using a free software from Microsoft called Windows Defender: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
> You can download a FREE antivirus software:
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/Programs/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
> You can buy Webroot Spy Sweeper here, it's very nice, safe and very up-to-date:
http://www.webroot.com/land/freescan-3000.php?rc=4929&ac=5190853
> MSN Toolbar:
http://toolbar.live.com/?mkt=en-us
> Use Windows Update to make sure you have the latest security updates: http://www.windowsupdate.com
> You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer, it's the new version, fast, clean and secure:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx?mg_ID=10010
Good luck and I hope these solutions solve your problem, if you need more extra help, contact me :)

You should copy all your important data to CDs or DVDs or an external hard drive, so you won't lose any if the malware cannot be removed or if malware tries to erase your files. You can then reinstall the factory software and overwrite all data, effectively removing the malware, and start over with a fresh computer, and a fresh install of anti-malware programs. Some malware is so new the anti-malware cannot remove them at first, and you might also have more than one malware hiding behind other malware making it difficult to remove any malware. Sometimes it is just faster to start all over. Meanwhile, try running the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, it might already be on your computer. Disconnect from the Internet and log in as an Administrator (this can be done in Safe Mode.) Click Start Click Run Type MRT Press Enter and scan everything. This will probably take over a half hour. .

spyware begone sounds like a "rouge" remover. I could be wrong but you can check a link at the end of my list for rogue anti-spyware programs.
Nevermind I looked it up,,,,It's BAD>>>>
SpywareBeGone spywarebegone.com
freespywarescan.org aggressive advertising (1); false positives work as goad to purchase; free scanner uses out of date ref database; same company as Spyware Vanisher [A: 6-26-04 / U: 11-10-04] <<<< Deleat it ASAP
in the following programs ALL can be run EXCEPT 2 anti-Virus will cause problems. I say this because you already have Norton so dont run AVG unless you remove Norton.
Try some of the following protection software first.
Spybot Search and Destroy has a forum on there website that you can send hijackthis files to and they will analyze them
I use all of the following Free software with Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer with MSN toolbar and the pop-up blocker turned on and have never had a single problem with my computer sense Microsoft came out with SP2. (knock on wood.) (And be sure to keep Windows and the following software Updated)
The best Anti-virus is: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. (www.grisoft.com)http://www.grisoft.com/doc/289/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
The Best Spyware defense is: SpyBot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html)<--English version
AND: AdAware SE (www.lavasoft.com)
AND Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.info/kb/)
The best Firewall besides the one that comes with Windows is: Zone Alarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/co... or just (www.zonelabs.com) and select the FREE version.
These are all FREE and are all that are required. There is no reason to pay for this kind of software, except to give a donation to the writers if you can.
ALL the above programs are recommended and should be run on a regular basis. With some the free versions they must be run manually.
The best way to avoid getting any Malware (virus, Trojan's, spyware, etc) is to practice safe computing. Microsoft and many others have countless articles on the subject of safe computing. (something I think should be taught in schools)

Neither SpywareBegone or SpyBlocker are very highly rated anti-spy programs. I would not trust them. HijackThis is not a tool that should be used by anyone except computer professionals. Many of the major computer forums such as Major Geeks, Spywarewarrior, Bleepingcomputer and CastleCops offer free intepretation of HJT logs.
Try the complete procedure here first. Everythings free!
1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender
http://www.bitdefender.com/site/home/
2. Scan for trojans and remove (free online scan) with Ewido
http://www.ewido.net/en/
3. Scan for ad/spyware and remove (free download) with Spybot Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
Good luck.

Hi, adware and spyware are disgusting infamous kind of virus. perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which can disable the virus, becasue the virus can only run on IE.
firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spywareware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

Get Lavasoft AdAware SE from www.lavasoft.com and find Spybots S&D. Use both together to remove adware and spyware. Norton will call some parts of windows spyware so you have to pay attention to what it is saying carefully.
