Is light brown hair considered brunette?

Is light brown hair considered brunette? I know dark-brown or black hair, especially dark-brown hair is brunette. I'm pretty sure medium brown hair can be considered brunette because dictionaries sometimes define brunette as having dark or relatively dark hair and medium brown hair is definitely relatively dark hair. I'm not sure if a light or lighter shade of brown hair is really brunette. Also, what's a light brunette and dark brunette? Please list sources if possible, especially internet site addresses.

I'm going natural after having years of highlights and my natural color is a dark blond with natural blond streaks near the temples and on top. It's almost light brown too. I would prefer to be called blond and wouldn't consider myself a brunette because I think brunette's hair is pure brown, not like mine.

I think the color you are describing falls into the category of light brown, or dark blonde. If you had blonde hair as a kid and now it is light brown, I would call it dark blonde. But if you always had brown hair, I would call brunette.

I do know that I have dark blonde hair.....thats what my hair dressers have always said. Level 7 blonde. You might be the same.
