I only know a little part of it...It goes like this(( hey now hey now don't....)) the singer is a women....and i do'nt know the rest....can someone help me here?

it was originally sung by Crowded House, and then later covered by Sixpence None the Richer (that's probably the version you heard - which can be found on their album called "divine discontent")
the title is "Don't Dream It's Over"

It's not a lot to go by, but there is a song by Crowded House called Don't Dream It's Over that was remade by Sixpence None The Richer, whom has a female artist singing it. Very nice song, love it myself.
