I asked a question on Answers and got the answer I needed within 5 minutes. The UN never answers my questions. However, I value the UN more because even when it doesn't work it has the potential to work. Answers doesn't have the potential for world peace, the UN does....now if they would only get it together.

None of the two are useless. It's some answers (resolutions), from both 'entities' that are useless. The UN is composed of different countries, it is not some 'independent' body. If the UN is useless, it is because the member states don't know what they want.

The two are designed for entirely different purposes. Many people believe that the UN has caused harm to the world as a whole, though I do not know if this makes it useless.

The UN because it's now failing to halt the oncoming start of World War III, due largely to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. I find Y! Answers very useful because we ask and answer questions about everything. We get to resolve everything here peacefully.

The only reason the U.N. is so useless is because of the veto power that is given to some nations. Reform is needed so that it becomes a democratic process so that countries can't play politics with lives around the world.

UN for as long as the USA has a veto power to sabotage EVERYTHING, and keeps using it, which is why Israel can continue to massacre.
I say, take away ALL veto rights, so it can be democratic, WITHOUT using Florida ballot system.
Surely, with the USA considering themselves the missionaries of democracy, they would be more than happy to give up their veto right like the rest.. or would they?
Pro'lly not, so sexually punish those who refuse.

Yahoo Answers just because it's an automated system. At least with the UN you can voice your opinion and it will ring in their ears slightly.
