As a society, is there anything that we could do to change the minds of those who do evil things? What one thing do you think we should do to use as an example!

We're fighting a war on "evil" by guns and killing! And we want people to love us? An we wonder "why" they hate us more! Shouldn't we be helping them to get he things that they need rather than destroying the things that they have to survive? if someone bombed your home, killed your family and destroyed everything you needed to live all in the name of combating "eveil" , wouldn't that make them "just" as "evil"?? How do we stop this?

Most people who show traits of evil are not evil in all ways. The best counter to evil is love. The more you press someone not to be evil will only make them more so. If you love and forgive they may change thier ways.

Good and evil as concrete concepts don't exist, but are pseudo-constants which are in reality based on your society and personal beliefs. If you think that's not the case, take 5 religious tenets and look where they are broken by religions themselves. e.g. thou shalt not kill. Oh yeah, pity about all the crusades and Intifadas.
Good and evil in reality revolve around actions which on the whole benefit the individual and those which disadvantage the individual and others.

So, thou shalt not kill is better phrased as thou shalt not kill most of the time, killing is bad, but occasionally it's good and it's good when you are defending yourself or the greater good.

Any other religious tenet can be viewed exactly the same. Look at the big picture.

I THINK A LOT OF IT WILL HAVE TO DO WITH THE WAY WE ARE RAISED...and if we are taught to believe in god and taught to live moral lives....and we must believe and strive to live for god and the right way to go in life...there is a lot of things of this world that christians should not partake of...none of us our perfect and we all have come short of the glory of god...but live moral lives and live by the word as best we can....and by the grace of god we will see heaven someday...
