Honestly, I am glad human beings are at the top of the food chain. Yes.

We may be at the top of the food chain but we are all fodder for the evil doers in our midst. Whether right wing or left wing, radicals and most Activists live to foment riots big and small so that they can ascend to positions of power over the masses. Ambition can be a deadly weapon in the hands of those who possess little talent to achieve but big egos and even bigger tastes for the Good Life. This is a mental illness and it can infect the nicest people who get a promotion from line worker to supervisor in, say, a governmental entity.
Morals, values and ethics are all we really have to hang on to as we go forth and "do the right thing." But we still have to take an occasional glance over our shoulder just in case.

There are many people who have to keep looking over their shoulder. Never been in a war zone, or tried being a Muslim outside a Muslim area?
The Kurds in Turkey are still looking over their shoulder and believe me, it's not a nice way to live.

When I flew over to America, and could see the swamps way down below us, we hit a magnetic storm and I knew that there were lots and lots and lots of crocs in them there waters, I did kind of wonder if the crocs where actually aware of where I was in this so called food chain!

Our species had to kill off alot of mega-fauna, giant animals, to get to this position. It is a definite pattern in the dispersal of early man's migration. Once man entered a new territory, like say Australia or America, a large forest fire occured and in a short period of time all the large critters, like giant beavers or carnivorous marsupials, became extinct.

Apart from those pesky mosquitos, and the tapeworms; and apart from the fact that if I were a crocodile I wouldn't have to worry about being mugged by my own species; I suppose so.

You still have to keep you eyes open & ear to the ground. You never know what or who is around the next corner.

Have you ever been inside a crocodile pen? You're not at the top in there.
