How many times did you see it in the theatre (when it was still ok to be 'ineteractive'?!) LOL!

OK-- this really dates me. I used to go the midnight shows in NYC when it was the only one in the country (this is 1976-77). At first, there was very little talking back-- only on some very funny lines. Then a few months later, people were dressing up, and more talking back. Then I moved to LA, and they started showing it at midnight. More dressing up, more talking, and the rice throwing. Then they started showing it everywhere and it got really insane. Lots of dressing up, too much talking and way too much stuff being thrown (hot dogs--gross). It became way more about the audience than the movie and I couldn't really enjoy it anymore-heck you couldn't even hear the movie. It was no fun to bring people to actually SEE the movie- which I like alot. So, I probably saw 10-12 times in the movie theaters. I was so happy when it finally came out on VHS and I could watch and enjoy it again. Wonderful fun, great performances and music. I've seen some decent theater productions too (It was a play before it was a movie)

I don't have the self confidence to dance and sing fully clothed let alone go to The Rock Horror Picture Show! I've seen it many times though, it's great fun and Tim Curry looked fantastic in that get up, he's not my usual type but dressed like that I'd make an exception!

Yes, it was just on TV here last week!! I went to see it 'live' twice in Toronto in early 80s, and the whole theatre used their lighters for "There's A Light", and got beaned in the head by 3 pieces of toast, slid on rice, and listened to people yelling constantly - "Janet, you s*ut!", and when the old guy came on..."Get off the screen you dumb*ss!", etc. Best part was when everyone tried to dance in front of their seats to "Time Warp"!! It's just a jump to the left...Tim Curry is so perfect and seductive as 'sweet trans-ves-tite from Tran-sil-va-ni-aaaaa'...

It was great, the lines to go in were just as much fun as the wild stuff during the movie. I wished they still did it. Even when I didn't go, I'd go check out the line and have pizza acros the street every saturday night. We went to it at "The Strand" in Ocean Beach, back when O.B. was cool.
