Try talking to her parents about it. Whatever you do, don't stand by and do nothing. Giving away prized possessions is definitely an indicator of suicidal thoughts. There's of course the chance she might get mad at you, but she'll probably calm down after a while.

You have to be careful. Talking to her parents might be a good idea if they are not the root cause in the first place. Yes, you should talk with someone, but maybe a minister or someone outside the immediate family first. This is too big to be on your shoulders alone.

you are being a true friend by caring.is there a close relative or someone you trust that you could confide in.it maybe that your friend needs help and encouragement at the moment,we all go through bad periods where a friends thoughtfulness is invaluable.did she give you the things as a cry for help or do you think it was for attention?only you who know her can answer that but it is better to be safe then sorry.one of my dearest friends died because we didn't get help.if i were you I'd risk my friends anger, better then the risk of her doing something silly and you having to live with it .my thoughts are with you.x

It's worth running your concerns by her parents just so you'll know you did everything possible to intervene. If she really is in a crisis, she'll likely be glad you cared enough to look out for her (realize, however that this "gratitude" will not manifest itself until she is a good deal better). She very well may get angry, but that too will pass. Anger's a transcient problem; death's a deeper issue. Ultimately she will see you for the true friend you really are. I applaud your initiative and sense of decency. But be prepared, it may get worse before it gets better. Good luck to you, and thanks for being you.

Ask her if everything is OK in her life right now. Do you remember anything that might have caused her to be this way? If not, you'll have try to find out if she's alright. If she doesnt wanna talk to you, talk to her family and see if they know.
If all else fails and you feel strongly about telling somebody about your friend, then do so.

You should definitely talk to someone. Tell her parents you're worried about her, or talk to your own parents about it. She might be mad at you, but you're looking out for her best interest. Better that she be mad at you than for her to kill herself and you feel guilty for the rest of your life.
