I have the same problem babe. My friends used to call me 'albino' all the time and it got really annoying, but my mother always taught me to be proud of my fair skin. In the old days, fair skin was very desirable in upper class society because they didn't have to work out in the hot sun all day. Today, celebrities like Nicole Kidman have made fair skin very chic and classy. Many women desire tans to hide flaws such as cellulite. I prefer to keep my skin young and healthy looking by wearing sunscreen every day so I don't look like a leather handbag when I'm older.
So don't let those snobby girls at school bring you down because they are going to be ugly and leathery looking when they are older. So whenever they say something rude, think how ugly they will look later, smile, and walk away with confidence because you are the smart one with beautiful skin and in the end, they won't matter.
PS. If you need a little color I recommend Dove sunless tanning lotions. It's good for your skin too!
Fabulously fair-skinned and loving it,

Tanning and girls. Girls tan for lots of reasons. Tans make you look thinner and healthy, for some reason. I also heard that there is a chemical released when you are tan and it's very addictive, thus, the tanaholic. I feel that way at times, too. I am trying not to expose my skin too much anymore so I have discovered Nutrogena tanning spray mist. Looks very natural and doesn';t get too dark. About $10 and you could try a small strip on your stomach first.

some girls are to much of preps to notice anything good about somewon else i get made fun of and i dont care fyi they think tanning makes them look better than everybody else and you know what just go out if you have a pond or a river nere you and go swimming on a hot day youll get a tan in less than half an hour but if your like me and you like to swim just enjoy it and when your done you should have a tan a pretty good one to the get the fakes and you get the real kind go for it it really helps thats how i started tanning and if you burn insted put on a little bit of sunscreen ther is no other way unless you want a fake then just get the tan in a bottle stuff or go to the salon or whatever you have to get your very own tan and if you dont want to tan just call them red freaks and tell them to get off your back

I think that's awesome really. I mean if a girl wants to go tanning that's her own business but I don't understand it either lol. I think if you've got very light skin you shouldn't be pushed hating/wanting to change it and tanning. I personally dont think you should do anything if you dont want to. Tanning has become this growing trend, everyone seems to want darker skin, but I think you should just be happy w/ what you've got, so dont worry about others making fun of you, they've just gotten swept you into all that tanning hype. Hope this helps!

Not all American women. I'm naturally tan (half asian). Since you have such light skin type, you shouldn't try to tan. Why would you want to ruin your beautiful skin? Too much sun is bad for the skin (wrinkles, skin cancer). If I were you, I would wear sunscreen instead. So what if they make fun of you? In 20 yrs, they will all be leather skinned and you will still have beautiful, wrinkle-free skin.

For some reason American's consider a "tan" to be the look of health. Which can be further from the truth these days thanks to cancer caused by being overly burnt by the sun.
Me, I'm pale skinned by nature, and I enjoy it.
Honestly, try not to let it bother you. You can always tease back that you'll not be the one with skin cancer. (a bad tease, but so true)
Also, a very very pale skin is usually seen only in the GOTHIC culture. Perhaps they are trying to associate you with that. Either way, keep going the way you're going. Don't let other people's views bother you.

I think pale skin is very much underrated. Almost every girl I see has dark tanned skin and a really high risk of skin cancer. I don't understand what's at all beautiful about cooked skin. If dark is your natural color, then good for you. It looks better natural than tanned. People should be worrying about making their skin healthier, not baking it.

Girls are mean!!! Let them make fun of you now and let them pretend like they are the bronze goddesses. When it comes time for your 10 year reunion all those girls will have brown patchey, wrinkled up leather faces and bodies and you will have the same beautilful, youthful skin you have now and they will be sooooo jealous! If this doesn't help you feel better, then try one of the over the counter tanners. Easy to use and your skin will not suffer....

Do not tan it ages the skin and that is the least of it causes cancer etc...So be proud of your alabaster skin and you will look young when your class mates prematurely age from tanning.

Don't do anything (unless you want to). I have fair skin too, and I don't tan easily. Tanning only increases your risk for cancer...plus, tan skin is a fad. About 100 years ago, pale skin was considered beautiful and tan skin was plain. I'm sure your skin is lovely!
