It is a 13 year old birthday party

the colors are bright pink, light orange, and lime green.

The party will be during late afternoon/night (ends at 10 pm) and it will be dark for majority of the party. I'm Planning on putting xmas lights up, but how can I hang them creatively?

The party is outdoors.

Please help! If you have suggestions on creative ways to do streamers, ect. or get the birthday person's name in lights, please post!!
dare I say this, but it should remain *fairly* cheap

Any help is appreciated!!!!!!

I just answered this question a minute ago.

If you have one of those canopy tents, or parking shelters you can find them at Walmart or Kmart for under $100, you can string lights up around the inside and the edges of the canopy. And run streamers from side to side. This way, it will be lit up underneath and in case it rains, hopefully not.. you will have shelter.

If you are worried about the price of the tent, you could always use it and then return it... shhh... I didn't tell you to do that... but I used to work at the return counter, and I know that goes on. Just say it didn't fit where you needed it to... lol..

Maybe you have a Dollar Tree store in your area, but they have cute party decorations and things that you can use, and everything is $1.

You could get some balloons and put them over the lights so it would be your colors. You can go to party stores and get cheap table cloths. You might even find a cheap pinata. You can make a centerpeice out of jello in your colors. Do it the knox blocks method (twice the jello and half the liquid.) You can add whip cream to red jello to make it pink.

You could get cheap candy in your colors to add to ice cream or put on the top of cupcakes.

Have fun.

instead of a "red carpet" to greet your guests buy some pink fabric for them to walk up. Have someone draw a caricature of the b-day girl on balloons in the colors of your party!! have fun!!

this may seem like a bit of work, but its darn cute when its done....i've made a sign out of cardboard, painted it cute with acrylic craft paint and drew out the name and poked holes along the line and then pushed the individual lights thru the back. glue gun fun stuff like silk flowers or tiki tropics drink decos (hula girls, feathers, whatevers fun and cheap at the party or craft store).
