Its a really open question, just want to hear everybody's thoughts.
I see free as being able to do whatever you want, being able to push yourself in any direction without worrying what people think. To be so confident bout yourself, that you can shout in public if you wanted to. To be able to climb a mountain with no safety gear. To have no limits...

The kind of freedom you speak of is only an illustion as there are always limits to freedom. The freedom that you do have is really the freedom to try to better yourself and means following some rules.

In the example given, shouting in public is ok for really free but not wearing a safety gear to climb a mountain.
Well, it is nice to think of being really free to do what you like. But it shall not hinder an other man's privacy. Shouting in public is ok but not in an hospital or an old person is canvalesing or taking rest or a child is sleeping. When you start thinking this way, then what is "approved" behaviour or ettiquette. Now what are the limits for being really free.

I do a lot of public speaking, and once I begin I always have, in the the back of my mind, a supportive idea. It is the fact that I'm exercising my rights of freedom of speech and congregation. That's when I feel a heightened sense of freedom.

We must also keep our regrets to a minimum, as depression minimizes the feeling of freedom.

I am really free when I have food, clothing and shelter and the priviledge of staying home or going out to be with friends of my own choice to enjoy this freedom.

men are born free yet they are bonded in chains.

eagles can fly and go wherever they want but they can only be considered as free if they have a home to go to at the end of their journey.

freedom always comes with huge responsibility.

Living on your own. No obligations or responsibilities forced on you. Free to do, and think, and act as you wish.

We are free when we die, as long as we die peacefully.
