Hello. - In my opinion - Perhaps you should say to your Wife, 'You are human and this is what humans do and have done since the beginning of time. Female or Male.'
Ask her about Women's Public Restrooms.
Her face, by embarrassment..should turn red...at which point accepting the things you do within your home or outside, seems comparably reasonable.
